When choosing your building inspector there are a few things you need to keep in mind.
Some of these are:
Licenced with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC):- You can check the licence status of your inspector by going to QBCC License Search
Insurance coverage: Make sure the company you choose has the correct coverage of public liability and indemnity insurance.
Level of Experience:- Most good inspectors are licenced in other fields of the building industry such as surveyors, architects, builders etc. When choosing someone with this level of experience you know you can have confidence with their judgement.
Communicative:- Purchasing a home can be quite stressful so you need someone who communicates well, puts you at ease, and can explain their findings in layman’ s terms.
Easy to read reports:- Report formats need to be easy to read to help you make an informed and timely decision.
